THE PERFECT EDC

The Phoenix Knife was designed first and foremost as my ideal EDC (Every Day Carry) knife. A 3.5" blade with a comfortable 4" handle, made out of S90V that will stay sharp for a prolonged duration, an S-grind to make it incredibly slicey, a prolonged handle with a palm swell for a good grip and a curved spine for a good index grip when cutting - this knife has everything to optimise your day to day cutting needs!

Semi-Custom
Feel

Even as a first production run, I wanted to give a semi-custom feel to this knife, where you can pick your blade finish, sheath colour, sheath clip side and extra scales so you have the blade that suits best your personal taste.

This is also a limited series as only 100 Phoenix Knives will ever be produced and each knife is serialized with a #/100 engraving on the tang that you can see only when you remove the handle scales.

Interchangeable Scales

Each Phoenix Knife is packages with at least two sets of bolts (stainless & Black) and two sets of scales (Black Micarta & Coral Micarta). With the use of a T20 you can swap out the bolts and scales in seconds and have the combination you prefer. It's like buying a new knife for free!

There's also options to add fancier scales like from a very rare ironwood burl or marbled carbon fibre. I will also release the 3d model of the scales for anyone who wants to make some with their own tools and materials. Just ask me.

CPM S90V
The optimal steel for this knife

  • Stainless steel that doesn't need to be babied and oiled often - can sit in its sheath for a while and can also be used in any environment

  • This particular steel stays sharp for an extremely long time, especially with a convex edge, which makes it perfect for an Every Day Carry that will be used on a daily basis

  • S90V is not only expensive as a raw material but it also requires a very specific heat treatment to gain optimal performance, will eat lots of abrasives and will require more time to work than normal steels. However, by making a production I was able to get some volume discount and get some working methods to keep cost as low as possible for this absolute premium steel, which I can pass on to the customer

  • Heat treated to 64HRC, your Phoenix Knife will have a laser sharp edge out of the box!

S-Grind

An S-Grind consists of a hollowing (concave) of most of the blade material, but to leave a little bit of meat behind the edge for it to be then convexed. This allows for a very thin edge that still has support behind it.

This also serves as a release for things being cut as it creates a small pocket of air so that things don't stick to your knife.

S90V succeeding very well at wear resistance (edge staying sharp for a long time), it lacks a bit in toughness (allowing for a thin edge that won't chip). With this specific grind, the additional toughness behind the edge allows for a very thin edge at 15 degrees per side, which makes this knife deadly sharp.

This convex edge is then sharpened to a 7-step process to 14,000 grit with diamond compound, so your Phoenix Knife comes hair popping sharp out of the box.

The Sheath

The Phoenix Knife comes with an included premium leather sheath. It is made out off 8-9 oz. veg tan leather, stained and stitched by hand and then water formed to your knife to have that perfect fit with a satisfying "click" when sliding the knife in.

It also comes with a clip but you can opt out if you don't fancy them.

Due to the design of the knife and sheath, there is a sense to it, which means you will have the option for your clip to either be attached:

  1. On the left side of your belt or on the inside of your right pocket, or

  2. On the right side of your belt or on the inside of your left pocket.

Think carefully about how you will carry it before ordering as you can't swap this out.
